Compared to the Freon refrigeration system, Ammonia systems is power saving and more popular when refrigeration loading is big (or huge). The best quality compressor would be German GEA Grasso and Japan Mycom, etc. But usually we would advise China brand compressors if you prefer a better price and moderate quality.
